Lacie grew up in the small town of Rexburg, Idaho. She decided that she wanted to be an artist when she was 8 years old and has pursued that ambition ever since, not because she was inspired by any artist she knew, but because she has always had a creative personality and an appreciation for the beautiful world around her.
Lacie enjoys painting landscapes, still-lifes, and everyday scenes, but the human figure has always been her passion. As a young girl, she would cut out faces in magazines and try to draw them or she would watch and pause movies just so she could draw the people in a particular pose. Lacie took her first oil painting class when she was in high school and fell in love with it, and it is now her medium of choice. Lacie graduated from BYU-Idaho in 2007, with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art with an emphasis in drawing and painting.
Lacie currently lives in Naples, FL where she splits her time as a photographer, an art teacher, and an artist of a variety of mediums. Lacie has done approximately 40 portrait commissions since graduating in 2007. She is a member of DPI-SIG, The Digital Photography and Imaging Club of Naples Special Interest Group, and the Southwest Florida Portrait Society.
